Thank you for your interest in transferring into the Jerome Fisher M&T Program. NOTE that transfer questions will be addressed starting in the spring semester. Those inquiring about transferring during the fall semester will instructed contact the program in the spring.

The 2019 Jerome Fisher Transfer Application is due May 20th, 2019 at 5pm EST.

Only fully matriculated University of Pennsylvania freshman are eligible for transfer into the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology (M&T). Students may only apply to transfer at the conclusion of their freshman year.

A student wishing to pursue this dual degree program must develop a plan of study including the remaining requirements necessary to complete degrees in both schools (The Wharton School and the School of Engineering and Applied Scienecs). The plans do not have to be optimal, but rather possible, given the requirements of both schools. Applicants should download the worksheet for their intended engineering major here, fill in completed and intended courses, and attach to their application. Wharton requirements and engineering major requirements are listed on either side of the fillable worksheet. 

Please note that Jerome Fisher students are required to take a minimum of 46 credit units to graduate.

Finalists must be available for a video interview. Interviews will be conducted in June and July

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum GPA: 3.6

Prerequisite Courses:
Math 104 and 114
One of the following: Physics 140 or Physics 150 (or for MEAM majors: Physics 151, MEAM 110 and/or MEAM 147)
SEAS / SAS Students: Economics 001 and 002
Wharton Students: Economics 010

Applicants must submit the following information to the Jerome Fisher Program:

  • The Jerome Fisher Transfer Application - Download application here (coming soon)
  • Personal essay (no more than two pages) on the following topic: “Identify a disruptive technology, one that many consider could drive truly massive economic and societal transformations in the coming years. Argue why the technology may not be as successful as observers think and suggest ways to address the concerns.”
  • Two letters of recommendation from Penn faculty who have taught you. Faculty may deliver recommendations to the Program Offices at the Robbins House, 3537 Locust Walk or via email to with the subject line “Jerome Fisher Transfer Application Recommendation”. All recommendations must be submitted directly by faculty for confidentiality.

    All 2019 transfer application materials (including letters of recommendation) must be submitted no later than 5pm EST on May 20th, 2019. The Jerome Fisher Transfer Admissions Committee reviews all applications and admitted students are notified over the summer. Students not admitted may be considered for uncoordinated dual degree status.

Applying for regular dual degree status

  • College and Wharton students should complete the Penn Engineering Dual Degree Application to be considered for regular dual degree status should they not be admitted to the Jerome Fisher Program. Penn Engineering will accept materials from your Jerome Fisher Application.
    • Engineering and College students must complete the Wharton Dual Degree Application to be considered for an regular dual degree status should they not be admitted to the Jerome Fisher Program.
