Get Involved

As an M&T alumnus/a, there are a variety of opportunities for you to get involved and stay connected with the M&T Program and the University of Pennsylvania.

Stay Connected with M&T and the University

We truly love connecting with alumni/ae at every turn – learning about your latest position or entrepreneurial endeavor, or just catching up on what’s going on in your life. M&T graduates keep their QuakerNet alumni directory profile current while also following M&T on Twitter and Facebook. A number of M&T’s contribute to our M&T blog,, by participating in our M&T Day in the Life of an Alumni series and other posts. In addition, a large number of M&T alumni/ae connect with M&T staff via the M&T LinkedIn group

Highlight your Affinity with M&T

As part of M&T's ongoing branding efforts, we are asking alumni and current students to add the full program name (the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology) to their LinkedIn profiles, resumes, and bios.

Host an Alumni in Residence Event

Each year a number of alumni/ae return to campus to take part in our Alumni in Residence Series. Alums host small, informal lunches, coffee chats, or dinners with current students at a variety of locations. Some Alumni in Residence events have even taken place via Skype, to accommodate alumni located further from campus.

Attend an Off-Campus M&T Event

Many alums attend Regional Alumni Group events or coordinate such events in their area. Others sign up to share their career experiences at the M&T NYC Student-Alumni Networking Event, which takes place every year in the fall. M&T alumni/ae have also led current students on tours and information sessions at their company’s offices.

Recruit M&T Students and Alumni/ae

M&T alumni/ae understand the value of their dual degree education and frequently recruit current students and alumni/ae for summer or full-time employment. Working with M&T Program staff and/or Career Services, some alums may coordinate on-campus recruiting events or create communication strategies to advertise job opportunities. Many M&T entrepreneurs also hire current students under the M&T Intern Fellowship Award, which provides financial support to students who secure internships at early-stage ventures.

Support M&T and the University through Volunteering

A number of M&T graduates volunteer to conduct informative admissions interviews as part of the Penn Alumni Interview Program (PAIP). The M&T Program, working in tandem with PAIP, operates two interview committees in which M&T undergraduate candidates are matched with M&T alumni/ae to learn more about Penn and the program. Currently, the M&T interview committees have over 350 fantastic volunteers! We’re also working on a formal M&T Student-Alumni Mentoring Program and will need alumni/ae participation to make the initiative successful.

Mentor a Current M&T Student

In the fall of 2014 we launched the M&T Alumni Mentor Program, a pilot program aimed at matching freshmen M&T students with M&T alumni for one to one mentoring. The goal is for students to build confidence through the mentor relationship while learning more about different academic and career opportunities on and off campus.

Make an Impact through Alumni Giving

By giving to the M&T Program, you are supporting a group of stellar students, ensuring we may better serve the M&T community as a whole. Some examples of M&T alumni/ae giving include funding the Intern Fellowship Award, backing the William F. Hamilton Director's Discretionary Fund, and supporting M&T Student Board events.
